2021–2022

A communal exploration of the past, present, and possible futures for Berkeley and its young people. With support from a Berkeley Civic Arts Commission grant, my collaborator and I facilitated a series of creative workshops in Berkeley’s middle schools. In the workshops, students produced diverse statements and drawings reflecting on Berkeley’s past and imagining speculative future “histories.” The workshops resulted in a poster, a publication, and a collection of speculative flags that flew on middle school flagpoles.
